Aims and Scope The Journal of Writing Research is an international peer reviewed journal that publishes high quality theoretical, empirical, and review papers covering the broad spectrum of writing research. The journal is inherently cross-disciplinary, publishing original research in the different domains of writing research. State-of-the-art research The Journal of Writing Research aims to report state-of-the art research and to provide a forum for established experts and emerging talent. The Journal of Writing Research is concerned with multiple perspectives on writing and acts as a reference for all those interested in the basics of writing processes and knowledge of written composition. Multi-disciplinarity The Journal of Writing Research seeks to draw research from multiple scientific disciplines:
Articles We encourage the submission of manuscripts in one of the following forms
The journal also welcomes explorations of difficult or controversial topics, and is interested in publishing non-paradigmatic and non-traditional ideas that meet the criteria for excellent scientific research. Empirical studies may use all appropriate methods, including experimental, survey and case study designs and both quantitative and qualitative methods of analysis. The Journal of Writing Research will also consider proposals for special issues on a specific theme. Audience The Journal of Writing Research’s articles are primarily intended for use in the scientific community, but the journal’s interdisciplinary nature also makes it accessible to teacher educators, curriculum developers, communication consultants, and other interested practitioners. Frequency The Journal of Writing Research will publish three to four issues a year, starting in April 2008. Each issue contains at least three articles and one or more book reviews. Subscribers receive an email upon publication of a new issue (notification service for subscribers). |
